100 lousiest Leafs
In a week when the number 100 is important to us here , we thought we'd come up with some fun Top 100 lists we listed who we think are the 100 worst Leafs in history.
Here's what torontosun.com readers thought of the list:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I'm sure you had many to choose from. However, I feel that with all the hype and fanfare anticipating his arrival, the flop that was known as Miroslav Ihnacek has to be considered among the top 10 worst Leafs of all time." - Kevin Gonyea, Brampton, Feb. 14
You forgot the famous Swede whom Ballard referenced with going into the corner and coming out with no broken eggs: Inge Hammarstrom. While you're at it, put Ballard on the list. - Dave Jonathan, Vancouver, Feb. 14
"When Jiri (Crha) was in net - he literally was in the net! I've never seen a goalie slouch so he wouldn't hit his head on the crossbar. There was rarely a difference between shots on goal and goals with this guy." - Chris MacAuley, Tonawanda, NY, Feb. 14
"How did you manage to leave Marius Czerkawski off the list? Surely one of the greatest under-achievers of all time and one who only ever uses one half of the rink." - George O'Leary, Ottawa, Feb. 14
"How can you have a list of the 50 worst Maple Leafs and not include Mike Pelyk?" - Richard Oxford, Richmond Hill, Feb. 14
"I can't believe Don Beaupre was left off that list. Even Trevor Kidd did more for the Leafs than that guy. All he did was lose games. At least Kidd had cool pads and could surprise you once in a while." - Jesse Rubin, Richmond Hill, Feb. 14

"Here are a few more that would rate high on my list: Nik Antropov, Aki Berg, Robert Reichel, Fred Boimestruck (and) Claire Alexander." - Charles Benayon, Thornhill, Feb. 14

"I have to disagree with some on the list. Some players were just fourth liners and seventh defencemen, so not much was expected. Others were over pressured by the media. I think 100 worst drafts would be better, since the Leafs have had poor drafts for years." - Dale Tonelli, Timmins, Feb. 14

"Missed a couple: Brian Curran (skated like he was skiing) and, by far the worst player in Leaf history, Chris Kotsopolous." - Bill Sandison, Courtice, Feb. 14

"Can't agree with Jiri Crha. What about any Leaf defenceman drafted between 1970 and 1990? Also, Forbes Kennedy, the Cullen Brothers, Brent Imlach, Dave Semenko, Marc Rheaume, Don Simmons. (How could anybody let in 11 goals against the Bruins in the six-team league?)" - Bill James, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Feb. 14

"Remove Jack Valiquette from your list. He does excellent volunteer work in police hockey games around Ontario. It is an insult to have someone of his dedication on your list." - John Hartford, Bowmanville, Feb. 14

"Where the hell is Allan Bester? LOL..." - Ryan Donnan, Pickering, Feb. 14
"Seems you have forgotten about Inge Hammarstrom. He should be on that list." - Keith Smith, Hay River, NT, Feb. 14

"There are a lot of fitting selections here, but I would say Glen Healey was a lot worse than Trevor Kidd. The first ever NHL game I went to was againt the Oilers in about '98 or '99. Healey let in eight straight shots from the blueline in the warmup. Other people that should be on the list are: Larry Murphy (always coughed up the puck), Lumme (too old), Cory Cross (too slow)." - Derek Koch, Edmonton, Feb. 14

"Notice how the current Leaf team has two of the 50 all time worst leaf. That's not very good, and it shows in the NHL standings...." - Tomer Berman, Toronto, Feb. 14

"You've failed to list Alexander Karpovtsev, Jimmy Jones, Chris Kotsopoulos and Bill Root. But I agree with most of your list, I'd probably agree with all of it but I'm not familiar with some players listed." - Wayne Montgomery, Courtice, Feb. 14

"This is disgusting. Have you nothing better than to do than have fun with a Top 100 list? They may not have been the best players but it is pathetic how you are diminishing their accomplishments to even make it in the NHL. Please. Grow up." - Lee Kim, Toronto, Feb. 14

"How could you guys leave Todd "No Skill" Gill off your dubious list of Maple Laughs? Other candidates — and there are probably too many to list — include: Rocky Saginuk, Bob Neeley, Gord McRae, Wilf Paiement (the original #99), Bruce Boudreau, Miroslav Frycer..." - Dan Knox, Los Angeles, Feb. 14

"I don't think it's fair to have Brad Smith on that list. He played his heart out for the Leafs and I distinctly remember the night he was the first star. In acknowledgement he did three laps to a standing ovation. Why isn't Scott Pearson on that list? I remember Guy LaRose too: the Gardens used to love chanting Geeee. He seemed alright to me - but he was in that era where Leaf players simply faded off the face of the earth." - Chris York, Vancouver, Feb. 14

Many of the players listed had respectible nhl careers they just drew the ire of disgruntled leafs fans which became easy fodder for bored toronto sports journalists who came up with this list.

Frycher wasa heck of a hockey player who wasone a mvp durign a nhl all star game.
Valiquette had great hockey sense but wasraised during a time where skating wasnt taught the way it is today.
Brad smith was a gritty 4th liner who bleed blue and white.
Bester was worn out by a awful mid 80's leafs team.
Aki Berg was considered to be the best # 5 defenceman in the nhl for a few yrs.Plus he is funny as old heck.
